We can use a standard VW bug towbar when flat towing Blitzen behind our VW Eurovan-based 1995 Winnebago Rialta motorhome (right)The Rialta is modestly powered, though, so we need to keep Blitzen as light as possible (hence the fiberglass fenders, minimal interior, no windows except for the windshield, and so forth).  While it's being towed, it's considered a trailer, so it must have fenders.
