1988 Palmer Independence
I've been having difficulty walking very far and
really enjoy attending car shows where walking several acres is
typical. The solution seemed to be a mobility scooter, but
most are made for home or shopping use - they're small, with very
small tires that can't handle unpaved areas, yet they cost quite a
bit more than this gently used 22-year-old Palmer did.
Here's how it came from the
factory in New York . . .
Length - width - height
Vehicle weight - payload
12v, 2hp Bosch
5 speeds forward,
1 reverse, plus neutral
Dynamic (electrical) braking plus a disc brake
72" - 30" - 38"
14 miles per hour
232 lbs. including batteries - 500 lbs.
60 miles (depending upon terrain and load)
Bench seat, long range package
(two 6v batteries instead of a single 12v), rear view
mirror, safety flag
. . . and here's what I'd
like to change to make it "mine."
Wire cargo basket
"Hot rod" flat black
fun . . .
